Saudi Arabia at the 2026 World Cup
Ask anyone in Group H who they'd least like to face when a lead is slim and the clock is bleeding minutes, and the Green Falcons keep coming up. Drawn alongside a Uruguay side stacked with European regulars, Saudi Arabia arrive as nobody's favourites and seem perfectly happy with that. The plan is no secret: defend in numbers, smother the middle, and wait for the half-second of space that lets the counter breathe.
That counter lives and dies with Salem Al Dawsari, the Al-Hilal man whose left foot still bends games no one expected him to touch. Up front, Firas Al Buraikan of Al-Ahli gives them a striker who actually holds the ball up, with Abdullah Al Hamdan ready to stretch tiring legs late on.
