Hull are eighteenth on 76, level with Coventry and Ipswich at the foot of the power rankings, and the squad splits cleanly in two. Oli McBurnie at 81 is the only man above 78. Behind him Jack Butland and Hidemasa Morita share 78, John Egan is on 77 and Semi Ajayi on 76, and from there it falls away across a spread of 8 to a floor of 66. Nobody at Hull is rated 82 or above, so no round here hands you a name that wins a matchup on its own.

The genuine warning sits on the right. Right midfield comes in at 67 from a single body, and that is not merely Hull’s own weak spot but the lowest position group on the whole wheel; no other club fields a department rated that low. Set it against the best thing here, centre-back at 75 across four, and you have the shape of the problem: a floor rather than a peak, four centre-backs who will not embarrass you and none who will win you anything. There are 29 names on the card and the volume is doing very little work.

Volume does buy one thing. 11 of them are English, a bloc only Everton and Coventry beat, and it is not filler at the bottom of the card — Butland, Coyle, Dowell and Iroegbunam are English and all four are in the first-choice side. If a domestic core is what you are drafting toward, this is one of the cheapest places on the wheel to build one.

The legend slot is where Hull stop being a bargain bin. Andy Robertson at 90 heads the pool and he is a left-back, exactly the flank the current squad cannot cover with anything better than Ryan Giles at 73. Tom Huddlestone and Ahmed Elmohamady share 89, and Robert Snodgrass and Geovanni match them, so even the second tier of the legend list clears everything on the card by some distance. Take Robertson, build the rest of your side elsewhere, and use Hull for the McBurnie and Butland spine plus English bodies — not for anything you expect to carry a week.
