How the ranking works

Goalkeepers sit on the same 40–99 scale as outfielders, anchored to shot-stopping record, how much of their club's build-up runs through them, and undisputed No.1 status — which is why a backup at a title club can rate below the starter at a promoted one.

The tiers

Goalkeeper is the most top-heavy position in the league. Alisson at 94, Martínez at 92, Donnarumma at 90 and Raya at 89 sit clear of the field, and then the list falls off a cliff: fifth place is Pickford at 84, five full points below fourth. No other position has a gap that large that high up.

Beneath the cliff, 75 to 84 covers twenty-six goalkeepers — a band so compressed that the ordering inside it says more about job security than shot-stopping. Undisputed No.1 status is baked into the rating, which is why Bernd Leno at 82 sits above several keepers at bigger clubs who are not guaranteed to start.

With only 64 rated goalkeepers against 176 defenders, the position is also the shallowest in the league. Roughly one player in nine is a goalkeeper, and only four of them are genuinely elite.

What this means for your draft

This is the position that decides drafts. You need exactly one goalkeeper, four clubs have an elite one, and the gap between getting a 90-rated keeper and settling for a 78 is the largest single-pick swing in the game. If Liverpool, Aston Villa, Manchester City or Arsenal come up early and you already have forwards, taking the keeper is almost always right.

The corollary: do not skip waiting for one. Skips are limited, and the compressed 75–84 band means the difference between the fifth-best available keeper and the fifteenth is about six points — far less than you lose burning skips to chase Alisson.

Common questions

Who is the highest rated goalkeeper? Alisson at 94, third-highest of any player in the league.

Why do goalkeepers use the same scale as outfielders? So a single overall rating can drive the draft, the power rankings and XI scoring without conversion.

How many goalkeepers are rated? All 64 across the 20 squads.

How these ratings work

Every player carries one overall rating, editorial rather than fed from a stats API: formula-based on 2025-26 league finishes and role, then hand-adjusted and maintained against club announcements through the transfer window. The same numbers drive the draft, the Club Power Rankings and how your XI is graded.
